Well, here's the thing about cancer—or surviving it—the perspective I mentioned in my past blog. This is it. Somehow, that f*&king disease just flips the script. It streamlines your next move in life as if some cosmic calling is dialling your number.
I keep hearing the phrase "You Do You," and I confess, I never quite grasped its meaning. My initial thought? It sounded downright narcissistic. But I've come around to the sentiment—do what feels right for you. Here's where my journey surviving cancer, along with the loss of my brother to colon cancer in 2014 and now supporting an uncle with stage 4 lung cancer, comes into play, serving as both a testament to resilience and an inspiration for others facing similar battles. I've moved beyond dwelling on the past or dwelling on things, largely because my inspiration propels me to take action that will assist people in understanding the importance of cancer prevention. Enter the Hoyo-Now App in the works, nurturing a better tomorrow.
Curious about what "Hoyo" means? It's Somali for "mum" or "mother." I don't know about you, but when you're sick or suffering, mums are always the first port of call, the unwavering beacon of comfort and care. I remember when we were in South Africa, I could see my mum's pain and worry. I could feel her talking to herself, muttering something about having another son touched by cancer—a silent conversation that spoke volumes about her worry and concern.
So, what's the scoop on Hoyo-Now? Picture this: it's our secret weapon, poised to flip healthcare on its head. Forget sitting around twiddling your thumbs—Hoyo-Now is all about taking charge. We're talking early cancer detection, screening, and prevention, with a dash of attitude. Say hello to "Prevention-as-a-Service" (PaaS)—because why wait for trouble when you can tackle it head-on? With Hoyo-Now, we're on a mission to make staying healthy as effortless as your morning latte. Here's the kicker: we'll swoop in three times a year for a quick checkup—signals, screening, and bam, prevention before it even thinks about taking hold. Sounds crazy, right? But trust us, it's doable. No more waiting around for the other shoe to drop. Let's make wellness the hottest trend in town! Absolutely! It's the cherry on top, right? Prevention-as-a-Service by Hoyo-Now app. How cool is that? The whole concept is all about catching cancer early, like, really early.
So, in my quest to understand and research, I've spoken to people, some of whom took my advice seriously and went to get checked. Naturally, they asked how they should go about it. My advice? Go see your GP, ask for a full checkup, and make sure to include comprehensive blood work, scans, and whatever other means are available for a thorough assessment. It's better to be proactive and catch any potential issues early on.
Now, imagine if you downloaded the Hoyo-Now app. It would streamline the process: no need to go through your GP, it would bypass that step and take you straight to a specialist. Boom—appointment booked, confirmed, date set. And the results? Just two possibilities: Yes, you have cancer, or No, you're clear. If it's a "Yes," at this level, it would be determined where, what type, and what stage. It's all about making the journey as smooth and efficient as possible. And guess what? We have a solution for check-ups, even better...
Standby... more coming.
